What paint can't do.

Lime wash, Venetian plaster, mineral paint, glaze, and patina — mixed on-site for your light and humidity, applied by hand, and stayed with until it's right.

When paint isn't enough

Mineral finishes settle in like they were always there.

Paint covers a wall. A mineral finish becomes part of it. The depth, the variation, the way light moves across it — these are things no flat coat can replicate.

— Lime wash

A finish that breathes.

Lime wash is the oldest wall finish in the world, and it's coming back for good reason. Applied in layers with water and natural pigment, it dries to a soft, mottled surface that absorbs and reflects light in a way painted walls never do. Each application is unique.

  • Natural lime putty or slaked lime base
  • Pigmented to your palette — custom mixes available
  • Works on drywall, masonry, brick, and plaster
  • A single accent wall counts — no full-room commitment needed
— Venetian plaster

Polished. Marble-like. Permanent.

True Venetian plaster is marble dust suspended in slaked lime, troweled on in thin layers and polished to a hard, luminous surface. It's one of the most demanding finishes to apply well — and one of the most striking when it's done right.

  • Polished or matte finish options
  • Multiple color layers for depth
  • Extremely durable — doesn't chip or peel
  • Can be waxed for additional sheen and protection
— Mineral paint, glaze & patina

The in-between finishes.

Not every wall calls for full plaster, but some walls want more than flat latex. Mineral paints like Bauwerk and Keim give matte depth with breathability. Glazes layer translucent color for warmth or age. Patinas add texture and story to surfaces that feel too new.

  • Bauwerk, Keim, and similar mineral paint systems
  • Glazing over existing paint or fresh primer
  • Antiquing, aging, and patina techniques

How a specialty finish project goes

Sample first. Always.

I

Sample board.

We mix and apply your finish on a board that comes to your house. You see it in your light, on your wall, before any wall gets touched.

II

Prep & mix.

We prep the surface right for the finish type. Lime wash wants a different substrate than Venetian plaster. We mix on-site for your specific humidity and temperature.

III

Hand-apply.

These finishes can't be rushed. We apply in the layers the material calls for, and stay until the depth and variation is right — not just close enough.

Curious

Curious about one of these finishes?

We'll bring a sample board so you can see it in your space before committing to anything.
